Food and drink which anxiety sufferers should avoid!

I was reading a post earlier and thought it would be interesting to add a list of food and drink which have the potential to make an anxious episode even worse.

One drink which was mentioned was coffee as the caffeine can increase anxiety issues even though some people might think it helps them to be more alert. Any other food/drink which should be avoided when experiencing anxiety issues?

Energy drinks are also full of caffeine and sugar, so I'd suggest giving them a miss especially if you find yourself increasingly anxious as a result of certain foods.

-Sweets or sugary drinks- Heightens your blood sugar which results in heightened stress hormone
-Alcohol- Can majorly increase anxiety and stress
-Junk food-Foods rich in saturated fats can cause an inflammation in the gut that leads to anxiety

Good
-Wholegrains e.g bread and pasta- full of magnesium ( a magnesium deficiency can lead to anxiety)
-Peaches- Are supposed to have a calming effect
-Almonds- Rich in zinc which helps to balance out moods
-Blueberries- Full of antioxidants can are supposed to help with stress
-Turkey and Chicken- High in amino acid that produces feel good chemicals
-Salmon- Full of omega 3 fatty acids which can be a mood lifter.
