Tackling a phobia by desensitising yourself

There are many different ways to tackle phobias and because we are all very different some may work best for others. One popular way to try and overcome a phobia is to desensitise yourself from the situation. This means that you expose yourself to your worst fears whether this is a crowded shopping mall, spiders, dogs or something else. By gradually exposing yourself to the situation, and pulling yourself away when your stress levels get too high, the fear will gradually reduce the more you try this method.
