Sometimes due to our own experiences or even things we read in newspapers and see on TV can make us think that mental health is something that is misunderstood and judged by others or handled in a way by professionals that is unacceptable.
It’s easy to get caught up in negative thoughts like this and sometimes these thoughts are justified but I think it’s important to recognise how far we have come in the mental health field regarding treatments, attitudes and care.
This timeline is very interesting as it shows the development in the treatment and knowledge of mental illness and to me it gives confidence that the way mental health is handled will only get better and better.
